AmatsuThe Amatsu Training School in Hertfordshire was established in 2005 by Jane Langston, specialising in the training of Amatsu Practitioners.  What’s that, you ask?  Amatsu is an amazing complementary therapy that uses diagnostic tools from a wide range of disciplines including muscle testing and orthopaedic testing to understand and explain the body’s natural movement principles.  During a treatment the therapist will assess specific dysfunctions and the most effective way to restore balance back to the whole body with minimum intervention. This is possible because of the application of natural body movement, Taijutsu, which is one of the things that makes Amatsu unique.  Taijutsu or natural body movement (as it translates from Japanese) is used by the practitioner to induce movement in the client which then facilitates a deeper level of integrated, whole body correction.  Its definitely more than just a massage!

Our teaching team of Jane Langston and Taz Faruqi have a combined teaching experience of 20 years, and have clinical experience of more than 30 years. They are helped by their trainee teacher Gina Croft who is a whizz at admin too. Together they have written outstanding training modules which are enhanced by video clips of all techniques – no excuse to forget what was demonstrated in class!

The training requires dedication, as it takes two years to complete, and there are over 40 in-class training days and two years of distance learning to supplement the classroom. Our classes are full of information, both theoretical and practical, and are above all, fun!  Our students come from all walks of life and are all ages, which means we have to teach in a variety of styles to suit the needs of the learners. The highlight of the two years is the final revision weekend, which is a residential weekend of non-stop learning.

We have prided ourselves in teaching to the highest standard, receiving the Institute for Complementary and Natural Medicine’s award for Best Complementary Medicine Company in 2012.

The sister company, The Amatsu Clinic Rickmansworth, is where Jane, Taz and Gina work in their clinical practice, offering quality treatments to the south east of England.

We are delighted to be nominated in no less than 4 categories in the What’s On 4 Me Awards –

“Best Skill or Academic Learning Provider” or “Most Inspirational Instructor or Tutor” for The Amatsu Training School Ltd and

“Best Beauty, Lifestyle or Wellbeing Service” and “Best relaxation Provider” for The Amatsu Clinic Rickmansworth.

To vote for The Amatsu Traniing School Ltd or The Amatsu Clinic Rickmansworth please visit the What’s On 4 Me Awards website and click the Voting Link.

What’s On 4 Me 2013 Awards Nominee – Gail Powell, The Solopreneur, South Yorkshire

Gail close-up Photo - 2Gail Powell is the founder of The Solopreneur Ltd, a company set-up to help would-be authors to not only get that book written, but also to get it published.

There is no greater feeling than waking up each day and loving what you do for a living. Many people who decide to work for themselves often choose to turn their hobby into a business. If you are going to work for yourself then you may as well do something you know and enjoy.

However, the one challenge that new (and existing) business owners have is the ability to market what they have to offer 24/7. Being very good at what you do, enjoying your hobby is all well and good, but when a hobby becomes a business then new skills are required.

The new business owner will find they need to up-skill and that there is, of course, never enough time to do everything. When the solopreneur is busy then marketing is one of the first tasks that can go on the back burner. The problem is, however, that marketing in order to be successful is an ongoing activity meant to create a steady stream of interest and income. Picking up and trying to make sales immediately when a lull in sales occurs, is very difficult to achieve for any business. This ‘feast and famine’ cycle has seen many a small business suffer creating a great deal of stress for the business owner.

That is where Gail comes in because she can help any hobbyist/solopreneur to write and publish a book on their area of expertise. It is the one marketing tool that will demonstrate the author as the ‘go to’ person in their field. A quality well-written book will actively seek out new ‘fans’ and customers whilst the author sleeps. Add to that the passive income created from the sales of the book then this is the one must-have marketing tool for every solopreneur.

Gail is also a Life Coach, broadcaster, columnist, editor and author; combined with her years in multimedia and marketing, she is happy to help any author at any stage of their writing journey with advice and encouragement. Gail states that ‘there is no greater feeling than holding the first copy of your printed book in your hand. The sense of achievement is like no other, and having a book about you and your passion is the single best marketing tool a business owner will ever create.’

Gail has been nominated in the category Best Hobby to Business Support. To vote for Gail please visit the What’s On 4 Me Awards website and click the Voting Link.

WOTB Director Joni Farthing: “Women Outside The Box exists to champion women running their own businesses. Launched with a festival in Bristol in October 2012 we have developed into a movement that celebrates the way women work today. There was a real sense of the power women can leverage by their sheer numbers. The feeling was that here was an army of entrepreneurs. Some in training, some hovering on the brink of joining up and others charging ahead with flourishing, profitable businesses. But united by being women.”

If you’d like to exhibit in The Pamper Area and be in the centre of everything beauty, health & well-being related, please get in touch!  Wherever possible I strive to support charities close to my heart. Some charities I’ve had the pleasure of working with include Penny Brohn Cancer Care, The West of England MS Therapy Centre, Breast Cancer Care & The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation.
